Onkgopotse Maboe shares his Mazda story as we celebrate Mazda’s 100th Anniversary.
"I bought my Mazda Sting 323 back in January 2007, and I never had any problems while I had it. It was very good to me and I was also taking good care of it by servicing it regularly. I received a car allowance and purchased a Mazda3, 2l, auto, in January 2015. In June 2015, I decided to sell my Mazda Sting, and I got a very good deal as the overall body and engine of the car was still in immaculate condition due to constant maintenance. In 21 December 2018, I traded in my Mazda 3 and upgraded to a Mazda CX-5. I must say it still drives as good as the Mazda3 but stronger due to the height and fuel efficiency is bit higher than Mazda 3, the only thing I miss is the sunroof of the Mazda 3, otherwise I'm happy. Lastly Mazda has really upped their game, good value for money. Keep it up."

"I don't know where to start. I've had my Mazda for 10 years now and it hasn’t given me any problems. Its reliable, affordable to maintain and easy to service. Only use the best spares. I have another car but this one I feel like a king when driving my Mazda."
In celebration of Mazda's 100th Anniversary, Brett Howell shares his Mazda story with us.
"For the longest time, I’ve been a fan of the Mazda MX-5. My passion for the brand comes from the ownership of my current Mazda2 and the influence of my father who has owned various Mazda's in the past 30 years. From a Mazda 323's to a Mazda Etude, a Mazda BT- 50, and now the Mazda CX-5. I had the desire to own a project car and the search for a Mazda MX-5 began. Why a Mazda MX-5? For the iconic pop up headlights of course. I saved up and found this particular car and took the step to go forward with the purchase as a 21st gift to myself. And turned my dream and a passion now into a hobby. I have now owned my car for a year and have no regrets. I love every moment that I have spent driving it on the road, and have add a new set of wheels and tyres and further improved the interior with a new steering wheel. I am currently busy with the last bit of maintenance. This is only the start for me and the build of this car and I can't wait to continue to build my perfect dream spec'd Mazda MX-5. This is a car I would say everyone needs to at least drive once in their lives and you will be hooked for life. As they say Miata is always the answer."
In celebration of Mazda's 100th Anniversary George O’Neil shared his intriguing story with us.
"I bought my Mazda from a brother by the name of Mr Daniel Van Aswegen, I met him in Pretoria, Montana while I was car shopping. After scouting around, looking for cars and nothing else fascinated me, I came across this little beast. The transaction was smooth as he only purchased the car because of a game he played on his iPhone. Being the old fashioned and classic, curious, young man that I am when I came across this baby, I fell in love with her in and in no time she was mine. She drives so smooth and so perfect with the gear shifts, she's a 4 speed gear and of course the fact that she's quite fuel efficient was another reason I picked her, along with her 1.3 carburettor engine, she runs so perfectly, all her log books are still up to date 😊✨"

"The story behind this photo began with my dad who bought the a Mazda3, which was surprise gift to me. When we arrived at the dealership, I was told to we were there to test drive it, only to find out we were there to pick it up. I fell in love with the Mazda brand immediately on that day. I was driving another brand vehicle for two months which was when my dad traded in for my Mazda3 and I have no plans of ever changing it. A brand that my entire family loves and it is well taken care of."
In celebration of Mazda's 100th Anniversary, Makhosazana Dube shares his Mazda story with us.
"My daughter told my friend who had visited that I had adopted a baby without telling her (my daughter). My friend then asked what's the baby's name? My daughter told her the name is Mandisa. I played along, we then took my friend to the garage and there was my Mazda2, 2008 model, 1.3 active now at 183 000km. We all had a good laugh. On the 21st of December I was blessed with yet another girl, Nomthandazo AKA my Mazda CX-5."
In celebration of Mazda's 100th Anniversary Michael Withers shared his intriguing story with us.
"I am now on my 4th Mazda 323. The most recent one I have been driving for almost 10 years. When the new Mazda MX-5 was launched in 2016, I told my wife this is the car I am upgrading to. A few hours later, I am boarding a flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg to fetch my 2016 Soul Red Mazda MX-5 from a Mazda dealership, south of Johannesburg. I then started my journey back to Cape Town. I had no doubt that it would be every bit as exciting as the car that I dreamt it would be. Mazda is what set me on a path to financial stability and I will always be grateful for it. By the way I am keeping my Mazda 323." 😀
Matawana Maphaka shares her journey with Mazda in celebration of Mazda’s 100th Anniversary:
"We loved the Mazda brand from the ads and in 2009, and that's when I bought my first car, the Mazda2 1.3 active and it really zoomed! I’ve been zooming in my Mazda for the past 11years now. It collected my first and second born children (daughters) from the hospital where I gave birth to them, it has transported my eldest daughter to her first day of big school and sadly last year October it drove my mother to hospital, where she passed on. She's my tough girl this baby. She might be small but we have driven her to Swaziland, Botswana, Mozambique and Kimberley. It is honestly the best car I have ever owned. My 1st car! I think I will cherish her forever. It still amazes me to this day that it’s still ZOOMING the way it did when I had just bought it. Thanks Mazda, maybe one day I will hand it down to my girls when we can upgrade to the Mazda CX- 5, our dream car. Thanks Mazda."
Nthabiseng Matjomane shares her journey with Mazda in celebration of Mazda’s 100th Anniversary:
"My fondest memories 😍😍, where do I start? My dad owned one, a Mazda drifter 1.6 bakkie, purchased back in 1991. We had many long drives in that car. My father adored it so much. To this day our beautiful 28 years old zoom zoom is still going strong, long after my dad had passed. When it was time for me to buy myself a proper car, I never felt my dad's absence because that part (dad's advice) was sorted. Mazda spoke for itself, I knew there isn't any other brand than Mazda. I knew I could never go wrong #withMazda, and bought myself a gorgeous Mazda3. I am enjoying every moment in it. My daughter loves it too. She sure is getting one for herself when she grows up. See, it's a generational thing. Zoom zoom for life❤️."

“15 years ago, I purchased my very first, brand new car that I’ve ever owned, which was the Mazda3 1.6 (2005). This was during the same time when the original Zoom Zoom bug was still big. 15 years later, I still have my Mazda and my friends like to through in a joke saying its older than me :)”
In celebration of our 100th Anniversary, Kelekile Khupari has shared her beautiful Mazda story with us.
“I saw a post that Mazda is celebrating their 100th Anniversary and we should share our stories… here’s mine.
My husband bought me a Mazda CX-3, with Skyactiv technology and maroon reddish in colour, we called it RED RUBYRIZER. I loved the car so much. The first trip we took in my Mazda CX-3 was from Rustenburg to Venda for a wedding. When I go home I was no longer worried even on rainy days as I live in a village, where there is no tarred road. RED RUBYRIZER was a second hand and fell pregnant last year, so my husband traded it in for a brand new Mazda CX-5 as it was bigger and perfectly suited for the family especially when I need to go home. It was incredibly comfortable, the same color as my Mazda CX-3 RUBYRIZER, and kept the same name for my Mazda CX-5. The comfort of the car erased the feeling of driving on a gravel road. Sadly, due to an accident, my husband was involved in last year in October, the car was declared a write-off. And that’s my story of my love for Mazda."

"One of the sexiest Mazda's ever made Mazda 6 mps 07/08 stage 1, 233kw AWD, happy birthday Mazda, this engine is so strong it will go for 100 years more
Still one of the few aggressive looks that pulls your eye"
#withMazda #Mazda100 My Granny Gertie (91 years old this March) bought a ticket from ORT to win a Mazda Capella Coupe in Adderley Street Cape Town in the late 1950's. At the time of the draw she was in bed with the flu and sent her very reluctant husband, Douglas, to go. He was instructed to wear his "lucky" green shirt and off he went. He stood in the crowd and held his breath....his ticket was called, lucky number 16 (now a regular LOTTO number hahaha)...he had won the car!!!! He was too excited to wait to get all the way back to Fish Hoek so he called Gertie from a call box and gave her the good news. She immediately asked what his reaction was and being a very reserved person, he replied,"I threw my fist in the air and said yes". This story has been kept alive in our family for years, Gertie is a terrible hoarder and even has the newspaper announcement of the win. The car's registration number was CA53652
Unfortunately my grandparents couldn't afford a camera in those days, they simply couldn't afford it. As far as granny can remember it was Mustard in color. I'm so sorry there is no pic, what a pity. My granny is still alive and kicking, she's a real tough old bird and would love to tell the story herself. You are most welcome to use the story.

I cannot even begin to describe how amazing my Ruby makes me feel- 2004, Mazda MX-5 (NB). I searched for months until I found her, inheriting membership in an MX-5 crew along the way. Sunday breakfast runs have become part of my life. I wouldn't trade Ruby for the world! Zoom, zoom, zoom. #withMazda #Mazda100

I have been driving this baby of mine 7 years now. A perfect gift from my dad. The only problem I'm faced with is an ABS breaking system. Is not working, it just gave in, has to bypass it. I cannot find a place where it can be fixed but I'm not going to let go of this car. We have created great memories and it holds a special place in my heart. My 2006 Mazda 3
